Small acts have always felt powerful enough to strengthen our neighborhood. Visibility serves not only a practical need, it also reflects the pride shared in our community. Growing up in Altadena, I’d run around the neighborhood with friends and if we got separated, we would find our way using homes and curb address numbers. As a resident today, I noticed that a lot of our curb numbers are really worn down. It’s surprising how quickly they can fade between the sun, rain, and sometimes yard watering can wash them out pretty quickly. The Altadena & Pasadena Neighborhood Curb Painting Crew began with an initiative to help ensure that every home, no matter how old or tucked away, can be located and appreciated. Adding beauty and safety to the neighborhood, one curb at a time.
